The number of Russian debtors restricted from traveling abroad reached 8 million people

This number is also almost double that of last year: in December 2021, travel restrictions were applied in 4.6 million execution proceedings, the press service of the Russian Federal Bailiff Service told TASS.

The department also emphasizes that the general dynamic implies a further increase in the number of debtors.

Even 10 years ago, there were no more than 300 thousand people who were “not allowed to go out”, in 2016 – about 1 million, in December 2019 – 3.4 million, by the end of May 2022 – 5, 5 million.

The travel restrictions due to debt, which entered into force in 2008, appear to the State to be effective measures.

In 2021 alone, Russians restricted from traveling abroad had to pay more than 55.5 billion rubles (this is mainly alimony, loans, debts for housing and communal services, etc.).
