The release of August Meyer from the pre-trial detention center was reported to Vedomosti by his lawyer Oleg Tkachenko. The Rive Gauche co-owner was released on bail of 30 million rubles.

August Meyer was arrested in December 2021. He spent more than a year in the pretrial detention center. In December 2022, Meyer asked to be released on bail of 25 million rubles, but this time the court refused.

The co-owner of Rive Gauche and the now-defunct online retailer Ulmart, August Meyer, is charged with fraud committed on an especially large scale. Meyer is charged with three episodes totaling around 3 billion rubles.

In January 2022, a St. Petersburg court seized the property of Inna Meyer, the wife of August Meyer. She is also on trial for fraud.
