China has launched a project to build the world’s largest wind turbine, the dimensions of which hit the venebra. This is done by CSSC. It has its own interest – it is more profitable to install fewer large-sized windmills, not only from an economic point of view, but also to solve the problems of navigation within the framework of protection. At the same time, savings on materials and labor-intensive work on the seabed can amount to hundreds of millions of yuan.
The interest of engineers in the selection of turbine blade sizes is not accidental. The fact is that the longer the blades, the more energy can be obtained in one revolution of the rotor. The blade length of the new Chinese turbine will be 260 meters. It is estimated that one such generator, rotated by the ocean wind, will generate up to 74 million kWh of energy.
The turbine can power at least 40,000 households. The company has already begun assembly: at the time of the appearance, the SuperBlade + wing, a giant generator, a gearbox and frames are ready. Also, the assembly of bearings and hubs came to the finish line.
