MegaFon has created a line of its own push-button telephones under the Fontel brand. In February, the devices will arrive in all stores of the operator’s network, the company’s press service reported.
The first model has already gone on sale, you can buy it in the Megafon online store for 790 rubles. The company expects that by the end of this year, the brand will receive up to half of the sales of all push-button phones on the network.
The Fontel FP 200 phone is equipped with a color screen, a slot for two SIM cards, a 600 mAh battery and the ability to use a memory card of up to 32 GB.
According to David Borzilov, director of sales at MegaFon, the demand for push-button phones is not decreasing, despite the popularity of smartphones.
“The Fontel line is designed to meet the current needs of users and can compete with retail devices, as well as completely replace the products of brands that have left the Russian market. We expect Fontel to account for up to 50% of push-phone sales in our retail by the end of the year, and we are considering opening sales in other large retail chains in Russia and the CIS countries.” Borzilov said.
In recent years, the proportion of push button phones in the network has been approximately 15-17%. The company notes that consumer requirements for such devices are growing. Today, when choosing a feature phone, buyers pay attention to screen size, battery efficiency and large memory, as well as microSD.
Eight Fontel models are expected to go on sale in 2023. The line will be replenished with “shells”, as well as shockproof and waterproof models. The price of the phones starts from 590 rubles, the most expensive model will cost 2990.
At the end of the summer, MegaFon’s distributor Revo Charge Rus registered several trademarks that allowed the company to sell household appliances.
