Sources from The Information and Bloomberg said that Apple is working on a cheap public AR helmet.
The company’s engineers plan to use more affordable components to keep the price down. However, this headset will have the same function as the accessory released in 2023. In terms of power, the budget device will be presented with the iPhone, and the more expensive model with the Mac.
Apple could also use boiled displays with lower content and cheaper materials.
At the moment, development is at an early stage, while there is not even a working prototype. The main part of the development only started last year, when the release was scheduled for 2024.
Apple’s first VR/AR headset is expected to cost around $3,000. The budget version will be re-priced from the iPhone.
