Since the beginning of the special operation and for the whole of last year, only 8.5% of foreign companies managed to get out of Russia. Of those who have left, most are from the United States. Of those that remain, most are from Germany.
Swiss economists have calculated that from February to November 2022, only 8.5% of foreign companies left Russia. The rest continue to work in the country totally or indirectly.
Most of the companies whose subsidiaries ceased to operate in Russia are registered in the USA (18%), Japan (15%), EU countries (8.3%). They continue to work in Russia, in most of the “daughters” of companies from Germany (19.5%) and the USA (12.4%).
Experts reported that as of February 2022, 2,405 subsidiaries of 1,404 companies from EU and G7 countries were operating in Russia. By the end of November, only 120 companies had sold at least one of their Russian subsidiaries.
According to analysts, subsidiaries of foreign companies that left Russia in 2021 accounted for up to 10.4% of its operating profit, about 8% of assets and 8% of movable property.
