twitter inc banned developers from creating third-party apps that copy the official client based on its API. The changes are reflected in the new rules that the company published January 19.

Twitter has banned the use of its API to create analog applications

Now, to access the social network, you can use only the official application. Users have previously complained about the termination of Tweetbot and Twitterific.

Twitterific was originally developed to access the social network from iOS and macOS devices. It allowed Twitter to be used until the company presented the official version of the application for these operating systems.

Twitter did not announce the introduction of new rules, the company simply published a new agreement, the developers say.

In March last year, Roskomnadzor blocked Twitter in Russia in response to the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

At the end of October, the American billionaire Elon Musk bought the social network and turned Twitter into a private company. After that, up to half of the employees left the organization, Musk himself fired part of the team, another part left due to disagreement with the new working conditions.
