Artificial intelligence algorithms have created portraits of typical Pyaterochka and Perekrestok shoppers in different regions of the country. De-identified data on the average bill, age, gender and food preferences of loyalty program users formed the basis, said X5 Group, which owns supermarket chains.

The neural network drew portraits of typical Pyaterochka customers in different regions of Russia.

“At the first stage of the project, we formed a textual description of the buyer’s portrait based on data about X5 Club members,” said Alexander Chukhontsev, Director of Partnerships and Loyalty Programs at X5 Group. – As it turned out, the average age of the buyer in all regions is 42 years. At the same time, the older participants live in the Novgorod region, and the younger ones in the Altai Republic and the Irkutsk region.

X5 also classified customers by zodiac sign, taste preferences, presence of children, and adherence to bad habits.

Imaging services were provided by the Artificial Intelligence Agency. The main selection criteria for the final portraits were photorealism and compliance with age and gender, as well as food preferences and ethnic characteristics of each region.

Appearance of typical buyers of Pyaterochka and Perekrestok according to the neural network:

In the course of the investigation, X5 found out that most of the meat is bought in the Republic of Karelia (it ends up in the basket of 75% of buyers) and the least amount – in the Altai Territory and the Republic of Khakassia ( 48%), with the highest level of vegetable consumption (26%) in these regions.

Residents of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (859 rubles) have the largest average check for groceries, followed by Moscow and the Moscow region (777 rubles) and St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region (768 rubles).

Absolutely in all regions, Capricorns prevail among buyers, Lions are in second place, and Cancers are in third. Scorpios and Sagittarius are the least likely to buy groceries.
