Rostec, in partnership with Aluminum Metallurg Rus (JSC AMR), will start production of high-tech components for exoprosthetics, Rostec said. Within the framework of cooperation, it is planned to open a network of prosthetics and orthotics workshops.
According to Maxim Vybornykh, deputy general director of the state corporation, private capital participation in the project will speed up the creation of the network and stimulate the development of components. To implement the tasks, Rostec managed to attract 1 billion rubles of direct investment. The production itself will be released on the basis of the MPO Metalist prosthetic plant.
First, the company will produce knee modules with mechanical and pneumatic components, as well as carbon fiber prosthetic feet. It is planned to start the production of components for future workshops in the second quarter of 2023.
In the further development of the project – the introduction of bionic technologies. It is planned to bring production to full capacity in two years.
