RBC, citing a source in RSPP, said that a meeting of the Union Bureau will take place on January 25, at which Usmanov’s request will be considered. The union declined to comment.

  • The billionaire has previously announced his retirement plans. In 2012, he announced that in six months he would combine all of his assets into a single holding company and move away from direct business management. In an interview with Forbes magazine, he reported that at the age of 63 he would definitely retire and dedicate himself to philanthropy. In September 2022, Usmanov turned 69 years old.
