The Apple Reality Pro mixed reality helmet can work as a second monitor for Mac, writes Bloomberg.

Users will see the screen of their Mac in reality. The keyboard and trackpad are still used to control the computer.

Apple Reality Pro gets an iOS-like interface and gets “lots of features” available on iPhone and iPad. In particular, it will have a home screen with app icons and widgets.

Applications will include Safari, Photos, Mail, Messages, TV, Apple Music, Podcasts and Calendar. There is also a special version of the App Store with apps from other users. You can use Siri or your iPhone, iPad, or Mac keyboard to enter text.

The main advantage of the Apple helmet is the absence of physical controllers, because the device can recognize gaze and gestures. For example, to select an element on an external display, it will be enough to have a receiver on it, but to confirm the case of a special gesture.

The helmet can switch between augmented and stable reality. Apple is supporting VR content in partnership with Disney and Dolby, as well as adapting Apple TV+ series and movies for the new gadget.

Owners should insert their own lenses into Apple Reality Pro to reduce eye strain.

The device will have a perspective removable skin. Battery size will be considered with two iPhone 14 Pro Max. One charge is enough for about 2 hours of work.

The helmet will be introduced in 2023, possibly this spring. It will cost $3000. Special zones appeared in the Apple Store where people protested against the purchase of Apple Reality Pro. [Bloomberg]
