American amateur engineer Ryan Lademann created the world’s fastest XLR V3 drone and got into the Guinness Book of Records.

During the first flights, the XLR V3 developed a speed of 414 km / h. But the editors of the Guinness Book of Records recorded a high speed of movement, it reached a record 360,503 km / h.

To set the record, the quadcopter had to fly one way and then the other at the same height to minimize any wind assistance.

The XLR V3 is only 490 grams and does not look like the usual quadcopters. To improve the aerodynamic motor and portable components, there is a laptop computer in the form of a small rocket.

The drone takes off vertically, but moves horizontally while flying.

The inventor began creating drones in 2016. It costs $400 to build an XLR V3, most of which went to buying parts. The body parts were 3D printed. [New Atlas]
