Atomic scientists set the doomsday clock at 90 seconds to midnight; this is the closest to midnight since it was created in 1947. However, there is a possibility that this will not be the last change in their position.
It is worth noting that the arrow was last moved in 2020, after which it began to show 100 seconds before midnight. Later, experts said such a decision was due to the risk of civil collapse if nuclear weapons were used due to the US withdrawal from the relevant agreement, and the climate crisis at a “highly unstable” point in history.
