-also Chrome’s private tabs for Android gain biometric protection, in an update that started rolling out this Thursday (26) by Google. The feature, which has already been in the iOS browser version since 2021, made its debut on the rival system in September last year.

With the launch of the optional tool, anonymous browsing becomes even more private and prevents third parties from viewing your tabs. This can be very useful when lending your mobile phone to someone, for example making it impossible for the person to check the information on that tab.

To enable the feature, you need to go to the Chrome settings for Android, tap on the “Privacy and security” option and enable the “Block incognito tabs when closing Chrome” option. From there, whenever you or another user tries to enter incognito mode, the browser will ask for biometric or face authentication.

If you want, you can also use your cell phone password to unlock access to incognito tab instead of fingerprint or face. In this case, it is important that the person to whom the device is borrowed does not know the phone code.

More security features

THEM chrome incognito tab protected with biometrics along with other improvements will soon be available to all browser users on Android. The news comes to life in celebration of the International Day for the Protection of Personal Data, which will be celebrated this Saturday (28).

One of them is the “Privacy Guide”, which gathers all the features that can make navigating the “Settings” menu safer in one place. The app also gained a more proactive security check that alerts the user to such problems by analyzing the browser for malicious extensions and compromised passwords.

To keep your data away from prying eyes, the search giant recommends using Google’s password manager, which helps generate, remember, and autofill strong codes on mobile and PC. It’s integrated into the browser, allowing you to sync passwords from any device with your Google account.
