We are talking about T95 STBs sold on Ozone, Wildberry and Joom marketplaces. It was first discovered on Amazon and AliExpress by Canadian information security researcher Daniel Milisic. The specialist found a pre-installed backdoor and a virus on these devices. They allow attackers to spy on users.

“It’s just that Milisic is unlikely to be unlucky. As a rule, devices of unknown Chinese manufacturers have one or another malicious functionality. Group-IB digital forensics expert Igor Mihaylov says set-top boxes purchased by the Russians are also likely to be infected with malware.
