The Galaxy S23 series was announced today (1) and brings great news: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. Produced by Qualcomm in partnership with Samsung, the component is exclusive to Samsung devices and provides more speed than the original version of the chip.
As defined by the manufacturer, o Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is the fastest processor in the history of the Snapdragon family. In practice, the component has the same structure as the traditional chip, but has speeds up to 3.36 GHz, the standard version. Operates up to 3.2 GHz.
New chip improvements
Qualcomm also promises improvements in graphics. According to the companies, the proprietary chip for Galaxy phones includes ray tracing support and an updated version of the Adreno GPU, which brings the latest creative solutions and accelerates “the transition from desktop games to mobile devices.”
“In the Galaxy S23 series, players will be able to experience human characters. Photorealists in their games due to Unreal Engine 5 Metahumans Framework support. Samsung’s promise is that the Galaxy S23 series will also offer other improvements thanks to the Snadpragon chip. Like the original version of the chip, Samsung’s special edition includes advanced audio, camera and artificial intelligence technologies, as well as 5G connectivity.
Availability
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy makes its debut with the Galaxy S23 series on all models in the series. So, in addition to the standard version, the Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra also have a new chip.
