The Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), will help simplify the labeling system for Russian catering, the ministry said in a statement quoted by TASS.
The new functionality of the labeling system software is expected to allow merchandise to be accepted and removed from circulation “with a single click”. The ministry noted that representatives of the business community approached the department with a request to streamline the labeling process.
The CRPT said the updated system will help restaurants reduce equipment and personnel costs. The developers are making additions to the “Honest Sign. Business” application, since not all institutions can install a computer.
“…to work with labeled products, restaurants will not need to use the electronic signature of the person in charge of the organization for each document. Such an opportunity will appear with the use of machine-readable proxies for employees, ”explained Kamil Sagidov, head of the HoReCa segment at CRPT.
On February 1, an experiment was launched in Russia to identify and prevent the sale of expired products, in particular dairy products, tobacco, and some alcohol.
