Initially, the generative artificial intelligence could be used to improve the resolution and sharpness of a photo after the user takes the photo, or even for tasks such as “more extreme transformations”, editing images, or creating images based on text input, the executive said.

Spiegel didn’t provide a timeline for these developments or announce specific products Snap has made, but said the company is considering how to integrate AI tools for AR developers into its existing Lens Studio technology.

Snap also sees the potential of artificial intelligence when used with AR glasses. While Snap Spectacles has not become widely popular, the company continues to improve the product: “We can use generative AI to quickly create more of these 3D models; reality,” Spiegel added.
