So far, the Korean giant has not shown the appearance of the novelty, only saying that the wearable is the result of a collaboration between Samsung, Google and Qualcomm.

The XR headset uses a proprietary computing chipset from Qualcomm and is based on Google’s new Android version designed specifically for wearables.

The head of Samsung’s mixed reality division told the Washington Post that the platform and software needed to be “somewhat ready” before the device hits the market.

To him, this is a guarantee that the company can avoid the same mistakes that other brands make by releasing AR/VR/MR headsets as “raw”.

Samsung’s XR is reportedly supposed to compete with Apple’s AR headset. According to rumors, it will be presented a little later, in 2023.
