In the first experiment, 36 students were asked to compare pictures of faces and answer whether they were the same. In a photo of the couple, the skin was smoothed using the program. Interestingly, the smoother the facial skin in the image, the better the participants distinguished the original version from the enhanced version.
Analysis of the results of the second experiment showed that the smoother the skin of the face, the more attractive it is perceived. The more beautiful the face, the more likely it was to be perceived as different.
