The cost of home Internet will inevitably rise if management companies continue to charge network operators for access to apartment buildings (MKD), said Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development.

The Ministry of Digital Development urged to cancel the fee for the access of telecommunications operators to apartment buildings

During the parliamentary hearings of the bill, which contemplates, among other things, the free placement of communication networks in apartment buildings, the head of the agency pointed out that today there is only one operator in 20% of MKDs, and two in 50% of houses Because of this, explains Shadayev, high prices are set.

The bill under consideration also provides for the possibility for any owner or lessee to place equipment without obtaining the consent of a general assembly of owners.

The head of the Ministry of Digital Development pointed out that the funds that the managers charge the operators, as a general rule, are not destined to the maintenance of the common goods of the house. At the same time, over the past five years, the total amount of annual payments has increased fivefold, today it is 20 billion rubles.

“If we don’t resolve the situation, tariffs will go up. The operators will shift the deductions they pay to the management company for unclear services to the resident rate, and the Internet will become more expensive, and we are already seeing these trends, ”Shadayev said, his words are quoted by Interfax.

The department believes that people living in apartment buildings should be able to choose between at least three options, the minister stressed.

“The more operators, the lower the price will be,” Shadayev added.
