Starting February 7, clients of VTB, RNCB and Otkritie will be able to deposit and withdraw cash at ATMs of the three banks without commission, the VTB press service reported. They specified that the unification of the fleet of self-service devices is the first stage in the integration of credit institutions into the group.
At the end of last year, the Bank of Russia closed the deal to sell Otkritie to VTB Bank. The Central Bank became the owner of Otkritie in 2017 as part of the reorganization procedure.
The unified network of ATMs will amount to 19.5 thousand devices. Of these, VTB owns 14.4 thousand, 3.7 thousand belong to Otkritie and 1.5 thousand belong to RNCB.
In general, the integration of Otkritie into the VTB structure will take up to two years, says VTB CEO Andrey Kostin. According to him, the bank will work with Otkritie under the same brand.
“I think the consolidation will take at least a year and a half to two years, in this horizon. But we plan to fully integrate the bank, transfer business and clients to VTB Bank and, as a result, hand over the license, ”Kostin said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
He added that in the near future the organization plans to save costs and avoid parallel costs.
