Istanbul Stock Exchange halts trading on all markets

The Borsa Istanbul 100 (BIST 100), which includes the country’s 100 largest listed companies, plunged 7.09% in early trading on Wednesday, February 8.

The reason was a powerful earthquake that occurred on the night of February 6. Tragedy gripped the cities of Turkey and Syria. Until February 8, the death toll exceeded 9 thousand people. The earthquake caused large-scale destruction, at present, rescuers continue to rescue victims from under the rubble.
