According to a study by Yota analysts, in 2024 Russians will increasingly use online disks for data storage. The demand for cloud storage in Russia increased by 32% compared to last year. Total traffic consumption in this segment increased by 28% from January to June 2024.

Today, more than half of the traffic in Russia comes from Russia’s cloud storage. The most popular of these is Yandex Disk, whose user activity increased by 61%. Google Drive (+46%) is in second place in terms of the volume of consumed Internet traffic, and iCloud (+19%) is in third place.

The choice of cloud storage largely depends on the user’s age. The most active users of online disks are Russians aged 26 to 35 (36% of traffic) and 36 to 45 (26% of traffic). The smallest number of people are young people aged 14 to 20 (3% of traffic). Residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa and Novosibirsk use cloud storage the most.
