The Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers (APPSIM) applied to the FAS with the results of the Xiaomi check, Izvestia reports.

APPSIM that Xiaomi enforces Russian advertising laws by displaying misleading ads on smartphones that often redirect users to phishing sites.

For example, Xiaomi can show such an ad: “The President ordered Gazprom to pay from 45,000 people.” This is a fake that discredits the head of state and misleads users, APPSIM believes. In addition, Xiaomi smartphones have ads that disguise themselves as system settings.

FAS stated that it had received the complaint, it would be considered in due course. [Известия]
