A Apple may launch iPhone subscription service between March and April this year. The innovation was scheduled to launch with the iPhone 13 in 2021 or the iPhone 14 in 2022, but it didn’t materialize due to “technical and engineering glitches that caused slow progress and missed deadlines”.
The information was published by Mark Gurman on Sunday (12). BloombergIn March last year, it revealed Apple’s plan to offer smartphone and other hardware rentals to customers.
According to Gürman, there was also financial difficulty in the project. Apple would also work with a platform called “Project Breakout” that would support the subscription service.
This platform should contain “checks, approvals and transaction histories”, which is a kind of repository containing information that also circulates through other partners of the brand’s financial services.
The subscription service should be a device rental that will not charge the fixed value of the device divided over 12 or 24 months despite monthly payments. Subscribers will pay an “as yet undetermined monthly fee depending on which device the user chooses”.
Apple is also working on the “Apple Pay Monthly Installment”. This sim can be a special program with monthly installments where the user buys the device and pays in installments over a certain period of time.
