In 2016, University of Stirling’s Dr. Stuart Galloway refuted the idea that getting most of your fluid from water is healthier the other way around. According to his research, some beverages (like coffee) do not promote additional fluid loss at all if consumed in normal amounts.

However, no one can say exactly how much water a person needs. This is because all people have different physique, nutrition, activity levels etc. due to its possession. It can be a useful guide.

That’s the rule in general. Four to six visits to the toilet during the day should be normal. If you’re urinating more than six, you’re drinking too much fluid, and if you’re urinating less than four, you need more water. Of course, the number of times you go to the toilet in a day is affected by age, medication and use of various beverages.

You can tell from the color of the urine whether the person consumes enough water or not. However, this method also has some limitations.
