During this time, I had enough time to use my smartphone and leave some impressions. Over time, the negative became much greater, and faith in a bright future began to gradually fade away.

Many things have changed during this time. No, I will not “destroy” this iPhone today. He’s still great. However, there are things that have either appeared over time, or are now becoming clearer.

Let’s start with the main one. Do I need Dynamic Island in possible views

When I first used the updated “notch”, it seemed to be something unusual and out of the ordinary. It still has potential, but use is still highly questionable.

I noticed for myself that I almost ignore himI. Not in the sense that it can somehow be applied, but in parts. Half the time I switched his music, and half the time with Command centre. It is simply easier and more familiar to reach there.

Various application settings in Live Activity should work adequately. But the fact according to the developers cannot properly implement this function.

Personally, I have 3 programs that support this API: Yandex Lavka, Planny and Flighty. The third has not yet been tested in practice, and the first two through time display what should be in the “cutout”.

There is no stopwatch, I rarely use a timer. Usually while cooking. But in such cases, I block the screen so that it does not start to fail if something suddenly gets on the display. As a result, I watch the timer on the locked AOD screen.

Always-On-Display proved to be more useful than a notch

On the one hand, it’s great that now I always see the presence of missed events even when the screen is off. At the same time, you can read messages that came from instant messengers and other sources.

They protected from lock screen with AOD. It’s great and convenient.

On the other hand, the very operation of this campaign raised minor questions. Particularly in terms of energy consumption. It depends on what and how is displayed on the screen. If the coverage violations are minimal, then not much, as I talked about in a separate article.

If there are other functions, then the charge is spent much faster. This happened in mass tests.

If you encounter the iPhone 13 Pro, then the difference is not so noticeable.. And if you look exactly at how exactly the 14 Pro can work without AOD, then its public is better.

But that’s not all the problems.

Presumably, due to the reaction to the refresh rate of the screen, stimulation begins to slow down. This is not observed by everyone, but I was among the people, I touched the “bag”.

Also, the function itself does not work quite correctly. Personally, I turned off the wallpaper on the lock screen, but they all uniform water turn off the display if necessary. Resetting to factory settings does not fix it. Flashing too.

Let’s go further. Maximum temperature. If push notifications come to Android, the screen is not activated. On the iPhone, it still turns on, albeit for 2-3 seconds. And this is also a negative (albeit a little on the territory).

In the end, I resigned myself to this problem, because the charge is enough for me personally in any case.

What about the time of work

For six months, the battery has worn out by 5%. In general, given that I use my smartphone around the clock, this is normal.

But the expense is sometimes brutal, although the main tasks do not change. Namely:

▪️ Telegram, VKontakte: 70-80% of the time (communication with colleagues, discussion of work and not so moments)
▪️ Pixelmator: 30% of the time (processing photos and images for news and articles)
▪️ YouTube: 20% of the time (I watch various studies or just interesting videos in my free time)
▪️ Music: 50% of the time (works much more pleasantly with it, and it helps to speed up time on the road)
▪️ Games: 5% of the time (not a fan of special mobile games, but some save on the road)

What in fact? Until the evening, the iPhone survives, but no more than that. When stable, normal.

For normal use (sit in social networks, chat, take some pictures, etc.), the battery lasts for about 1.5 days.

Performance is great, but iPhone gets hotter

It’s almost always here. The A16 Bionic is still a driving force in the smartphone processor market.

However, in iOS 16.3, performance dropped slightly. In principle, nothing surprising for such a period.

However, the A16 Bionic has become what feels like the hottest chip in recent years. I almost never have moments when the smartphone is in a cold state. Always slightly warm. On rare models, it was rather rare.

But I can say for sure that 6 GB of RAM is enough for an iPhone. 10 applications at the same time – they all go. And even opening the Camera doesn’t look like it.

While Android manufacturers are ramping up responsiveness to some incredible levels comparable to a PC, iOS can easily get by with six. This is enough for the most comfortable work.

A total negative. Are there any good moments?

Certainly. It’s still a great smartphone and the best iPhone of all time, but with its own nuances.

I stubbornly do not understand why popular manufacturers do not use their features for Dynamic Island. After all, it can be done for real.

In other things, the question is more positive. If you want AOD, then it is here and generally works fine. Perhaps I was “lucky” with glitches, because I rarely saw such complaints.

Nevertheless, it shoots amazing photos and videos, holds the structure well, works unrealistically fast, and it will last another 3 years for sure. Yes, even more, if you do not strive to get the latest features and more “heavy” versions of iOS.

Considering how much it now costs in various stores, it really justifies its price.
