The Moskvich plant signed an agreement with Yandex on the schedule for the supply of cars for taxis and car-sharing, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin’s Telegram channel.
In the near future, 3,000 Moskvich 3 vehicles will be shipped to taxi companies across the country. In 2023, the plant intends to produce 50,000 cars, of which 10,000 will be electric-powered.
In addition, the company has created its own dealer network of 52 centers in 23 cities across the country.
As noted in a post on the capital’s chief’s channel, in Moscow alone, taxi and car-sharing services need 30,000-40,000 new cars a year. In December last year, the city set a record: 1.6 million passengers were transported per day.
Moskvich 3 was produced on the premises of the former Renault plant, which became state property in May last year. The assembly of the model began at the end of November, and in December the manufacturer announced the price of 1.97 million rubles.
