VKontakte promised to compensate the tax payments to the authors. To do this, they must register on the platform as freelancers and place ads in groups using the advertising tools of social networks. Compensation will be equivalent to tax deductions for professional income: 4-6% of each payment. The program is designed for six months.
Tax deductions will not be returned if the freelance author receives money directly from the advertiser, Vedomosti reported.
The company thus intends to attract new authors and increase the site’s advertising revenue. Authors on the social network are considered owners of 2 million audiences registered on the platform.
The company representative did not disclose the amount of funds that will be used for compensation and the percentage of the commission from Vkontakte. According to the director of the Association of Bloggers and Agencies Tatyana Ivanova, the platform’s advertising commission can reach 30%.
