Norwegian online payment app Vipps wants European Union competition authorities to have access to NFC on the iPhone. Vipps chief executive Rune Garborg told Reuters.
Vipps is the most common payment app in Norway, but doesn’t have NFC access because it’s not a bank.
The company said that this is a serious problem due to the popularity of Apple devices in the Scandinavian countries with a certain year, as well as the number of transactions through terminals.
This is really important to us. 78% of card transactions available through terminals. That’s why NFC is so necessary, especially among young people.
