The European Union can ban the supply of toilets, bidets and cisterns to Russia. This measure, together with new restrictions against the banking sector and individuals, is contained in the new tenth package of sanctions against Russia. Previously, also due to sanctions, the Russians were deprived of toilet paper rolls with washable covers.

European Union countries may ban the supply of sanitary products to Russia, including toilets, bidets and flush cisterns. It is reported by EUObserver.

The restrictions on the supply of these goods to Russia are contained in the tenth package of anti-Russian sanctions, which the European Union plans to introduce on February 24, the first anniversary of the special operation in Ukraine.

This package, among other things, proposes to introduce new sanctions against four Russian banks and individuals. The volume of the package export restrictions is estimated at $10 billion.

The ban on the export of toilets and bidets will not be the first ban on hygiene products Russia has faced due to sanctions. For example, in May 2022, a French company holding a patent for a disposable core technology for toilet paper rolls ended its relations with Russian companies and stopped supplying them to Russia.
