A one-time payment of a business to the budget may be prescribed in the Tax Code as a fee. It is planned to be extended to companies with an average profit in 2021-2022 above 1 billion rubles, the sources told RBC.
One of the interlocutors of the publication added that the voluntary nature in this case consists of the consolidated consent to its payment by the main business associations.
The formula for calculating the company’s contribution has not yet been approved, it is being discussed. Now, for example, we are studying what kind of profit to take into account: net or before taxes. The measure will not include the oil and gas sector, for which the tax scheme has recently changed.
In early February, Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov said that the government was discussing with companies the possibility of a one-time voluntary contribution to the budget. The Ministry of Finance clarified that this contribution will only affect companies that have received excess profits. The purpose of this contribution is to cover the federal budget deficit.
