Experts estimate that an average of 39% of the time people currently spend doing some type of housework could be automated within the next ten years. The most likely task that could be automated was called purchasing products. The least automated task would be physical childcare.

Male experts from the UK were more optimistic about home automation compared to female experts in the UK, but for Japanese experts this trend was reversed and female experts were slightly more optimistic.
