The Moscow Stock Exchange will launch trading of settled futures for the Hong Kong dollar/Russian ruble and Turkish lira/Russian ruble currency pairs. They will start on March 1, according to the site’s press service.
The launch of the trading is due to the increased interest in these coins on the market, the Moscow Stock Exchange explained.
Futures contracts for the Turkish lira/Russian ruble pair will be traded under the code TRY, one lot will be equal to 1,000 lira.
Contracts for the Hong Kong dollar/Russian ruble pair will be traded under the ticker HKD, with a lot equivalent to HK$1,000.
The futures themselves will be available with execution in June, September and December of the current year, as well as in March of next year.
In November, the Moscow Stock Exchange began calculating the yuan bond index. The decision was due to an increase in the number of transactions with Chinese currency in the local market.
In May 2022, the UK stripped the Moscow Stock Exchange of its status as a recognized stock exchange, as the stock exchange was forced to follow the Central Bank’s ban on the sale of assets by order of non-residents.
