The Delimobil car sharing service has equipped economy and comfort class cars with a special hammock for transporting dogs. This was reported to RB.RU by a company representative.
Hammocks are suitable for owners of almost all breeds of domestic dogs. The restrictions on the dimensions of the animal are 100 kg of weight and 65 centimeters at the withers. The service does not recommend transporting particularly large dogs, such as the English Mastiff or Anatolian Shepherd.
The hammocks have slots into which you can stretch the tethers and fasten the dog’s seat belt (not provided by the service). Hammocks are also supposed to protect the interior from wool and moisture.
You don’t have to pay extra for a hammock. To rent a car with a hammock, the user must select this option in the search menu. Before starting the trip, the driver must prepare the car for transporting the animal on his own: take and fix the hammock, and after the trip, take it out and put it in the trunk.
Currently, the service has equipped 100 cars throughout Russia with sunbeds, they also have a special sticker with the inscription “dog-friendly delimobil”. In the future, Delimobil plans to increase the proportion of cars that provide for the transportation of pets.
