Sources told Reuters that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has rejected Elon Musk’s application to test Neuralink neurochips on humans.

To get approval, the company decided to solve “dozens of questions” that the FDA had posed. In particular, we are talking about the safety of using a lithium battery, the possibility of transferring implant ports to other areas of the brain, as well as what can be removed without damaging brain tissue.

Neuralink has previously reported on successful animal testing of the chips. The company wants to use its research to treat diseases like blindness and paralysis.
