Apple has warned Russian service centers about the termination of warranty service for Mac computers and iPad tablets. Those facing a breakdown of the devices can contact the store and demand a refund, the company said in a letter.
Apple Authorized Service Centers in Russia received a letter from the company, in which they warned about the termination of warranty service for Mac and iPad equipment. The Fixed.one center spoke about it on its Telegram channel.
“Preliminarily, the company invites equipment owners who have problems during the warranty period to contact the stores and demand a refund,” Fixed.one said.
The company emphasized that the mechanism for making returns remains unclear. It will have to be carried out after the conclusion of an authorized center, but they will have nothing to serve. Under the current circumstances, many Apple Authorized Service Centers will face closure in the coming weeks, Fixed.one concluded.
Apple’s warranty policy states that Apple may limit warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its authorized resellers originally sold the product.
Apple suspended direct sales in Russia in March 2022. Apple devices are brought into Russia as part of parallel imports.
