Magic Eraser removes objects from photos. It sounds simple enough, but the implementation of the functionality is done at the highest level. On Pixel smartphones, the process is handled by the company’s own chip, while Google One subscribers will need the Internet. The tool can remove people and objects, and the Camouflage mode lets you change the tone of selected elements to “help them blend naturally with the rest of the photo.”

When viewing an image in Google Photos, a hint appears at the bottom when Magic Eraser detects objects that need to be removed. To start using the “magic eraser” you need to pay a monthly subscription to Google One for $1.99.
