Roskosmos on its official Telegram channel announced the implementation and successfully implemented tests of the SPD-70M electric rocket engine, where krypton was used as an inert gas during the experimental testing.
As a rule, xenon is used in the engines used, but every year it accelerates on the market, while the use of krypton is cheaper – by 5 or even 10 times.

The first tests were carried out by Fakel specialists, who have stable design work, include the assembly of krypton, and are also a reliable indicator of its launch.
SPD-70M, operating on cryptocurrency, plans to use a promising KA program “Sphere”.
