Suppliers and Russian brands feared supply chain closures and shortages in 2022. There is now a lot of equipment in warehouses; most importantly – products of Russian brands that produce equipment in China.
Now sales are down. However, not all retail chains accept a surplus. “Someone has more (techniques) in stock, someone has less,” said the general manager of Marvel Distribution’s profile directorate. Citilink says they haven’t observed any surplus on large appliances, while M.Video-Eldorado claims they have “optimal amount of inventory.”
It has been noted that a similar situation has developed in the consumer electronics market – there is a surplus of laptops. Kommersant also adds that sellers will not stimulate demand through price reductions.
