This is because the pyramids in Egypt were mostly made of soft rocks – sandstone, limestone.
The second reason for the ban is the danger of such a march. There is no longer a specific route that shows you how to reach the summit safely. And if you want to get there on your own, then it would be like trying to climb a 40-story building without insurance. It also happens that tourists climb to the top, but cannot go down themselves: a similar incident happened with a young man in 2010.
