According to a team of scientists, the program took about a day to do the work that humans took almost a year to do. Given the scale and complexity of today’s warships, errors are an inevitable part of the design process and can take hours to find and fix.
But when the researchers tested the program on more than 400 challenging tasks, it “achieved 100 percent accuracy.” The developers said there is room for improvement, but the program is “ready for engineering applications” in China’s shipbuilding industry.
