Researchers already have a prototype device ready. The drone is equipped with wings made of rice crackers. “Our goal is to create robotic food,” the engineers said.

The length of the device is 70 centimeters. Crackers are tied together using gelatin and contain about 300 kilocalories. In addition, the drone can carry about 80 ml of water. Now almost half the mass of the apparatus is edible. Scientists want to achieve an indicator of 75%. That’s more than a normal drone can carry.

The device reaches a speed of about 10 meters per second. Already tested – cracker wings did not break.
