Specialists of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, when checking the support of engineers from other organizations, have developed a new and very promising series of flexible matrices for mobile electronics, which will operate for 20 years. They have three times the brightness of solutions used in today’s folding sweet cards.
According to representatives of SPbPU Ivan Mukhin, flexible semiconductor LEDs identified by the high method are more popular than now among manufacturers of curving OLED screens, but higher brightness and increased sensitivity are predicted, which will significantly expand their limits. At the same time, the launch of a series of mass production has an exceptional stability.
It should be noted here that modern mobile devices with folding cases are equipped with affordable matrices, but their validity period does not exceed three years, after which they are detected. In the development of St. Petersburg scientists, it is supposed to use whisker-like nanocrystals in the form of 100-nm cylinder diameters, which appear several times, each of which can glow, and bend.
