The novelty has a projection module that can transmit an image directly to the retina. This technology was first introduced so that users with vision problems can also use the camera.
The Retissa Neoviewer compact on-camera projector is said to be able to focus on images at 720p resolution and 8-bit color depth with a 60-degree horizontal field of view and a 60Hz refresh rate.
Sony representatives noted that the innovation will improve the user experience for people with visual impairments such as astigmatism, myopia and hyperopia. The projector’s battery life is up to four hours, and you can charge it via the microUSB port.
A special form costs $599 and sales will begin in early summer 2023.
