Audi has become one of the latest European automakers to test the possibilities of electric bikes.
The Italian company Fantic, a well-known manufacturer of soft motorcycles, bicycles and go-karts, was engaged in the direct development of an electric off-road vehicle commissioned by the auto giant. The newcomer bears a striking resemblance to the Q E-tron E2 racing bike that had the recent Dakar 23 rally marathon.
The e-bike is equipped with a 250-watt Brose motor with a proprietary 720 Wh battery. Fantic’s power pack outperforms Harley-Davidson’s Bash/Mtn mountain bike by almost 530h, allowing for 50 to 150km mileage, depending on road conditions. Audi’s e-bike stands out for its high levels of electrical support, from the entry-level Eco to the maximum.
In addition to the motor and battery, the package includes: an aluminum frame, a braking system with CA disc brakes, an Öhlins fork with a shock absorber, Sram drivetrain parts, as well as Italian Vittoria tires and a Sella Italia saddle.
