Joe Biden’s administration votes from Chinese company ByteDance is selling its stake in TikTok, otherwise the application will be blocked in the US. TikTok spokeswoman Maureen Shanahan told The New Your Times.
A TikTok spokesperson added that the company is disappointed based on the US and is weighing all options.
If the goal is to protect national security, the sale does not solve the problem: the change of ownership will not impose any restrictions on the transfer of data or access to it.
