Virgin Orbit aerospace company billionaire Richard Branson has sent nearly all employees on indefinite leave and has almost completely suspended “operational activities” for at least a week. This was reported to CNBC by sources, citing a corporate meeting.

Only a small group of people will continue to work, how many people and in what positions is not reported. The remaining employees as of March 16 will enter downtime at their own expense, the company can count these days as paid vacation if the employees have not yet taken them.

The top managers of the company promised to return with the news on March 22 and 23, the salary will be paid on March 24. Virgin Orbit boss Dan Hart told employees the company will finalize its investment plan during the pause, sources told Reuters.

Against the background of such messages, Virgin Orbit shares fell by this time by 52%, to $0.49 apiece.
