At the launch event, the company’s CEO presented slides of pre-recorded chatbot videos instead of a live demo. Even the recorded videos did not show any outstanding features, disappointing investors.

Even the CEO himself admitted that Ernie Bot is far from perfect. As a result, Baidu’s shares began to fall. While the company did not comment, it did make an official statement stating that Baidu’s cloud traffic is skyrocketing as more than 30,000 enterprise users applied to test Ernie Bot.
